Supersexy Superheroes

We don't know if women find Batman, Superman et al (the 2D drawn versions, not Christian Bale etc) sexy. But taking the 'sex sells' mantra further than perhaps it was originally intended, illustrators clearly believe men will buy comics if they can find pants joy in the superheroes within.

8. Phantom Lady

Given that Phantom Lady made her comic debut in 1941, still six years before the bikini had been invented, her bust-accentuating attire was somewhat daring and resulted in her being the subject of campaigns criticizing her effect on children of the comic book medium.

7. Madame Mirage

Sometimes assisted by younger sister Harper, Madame Mirage has been known to use mind control, magic and shape-shifting in conflict. To be honest, FHM would rather she stayed in just her normal shape.

6. Bomb Queen

Having defeated her three fellow Queens and subsequently banned all other superheroes, villainess Bomb Queen is the dictator of New Port City. We're unsure as to whether it's her political skills or her penchant for bearing 90% of her boobs at all times that makes her popular amongst her constituents.

5. Poison Ivy

From her first apppearance as a Batman adversary in 1966, to Uma Turman's portrayal of her in the 1997 movie Batman and Robin, eco-terrorist Poison Ivy has enjoyed a relatively high profile career as a female superhero. With protecting the environment as the key reason for her evil, Ivy was somewhat of a pioneer and would probably be welcomes with open arms in the Gotham City of today.
