After years of modeling, the lovely Yvette Lopez has now set her sights on conquering the music world. The beautiful Ms. Lopez has already collaborated with Cypress Hill’s B-Real and producer Lewis Martinee on the club hit Tell Me It’s a Lie. We caught up with the pop and hip hop songstress at LA hotspot One Sunset to chat about her music, the real B-real, and gay bars.

There’s got to be a story behind your single, Tell Me It’s a Lie.
It’s about my boyfriend leaving me for a man. It's not about me, it's about another friend of mine.

Can we expect more dance music from you?
My first single is a dance song—I fell into that when I recorded with Lewis Martinee, he’s more club. It was something very special be able to record with him, but my music is not all club. It’s Spanish and English. I’m bringing traditional Mexican music and mixing it up with pop and hip hop.

You’ve also been working with Cypress Hill’s B-Real. Is B-Real still “Insane in the Membrane” as well as “Insane in the brain”?
B-Real and the guys from Cypress Hill, they’re all actually really sweet, I don’t want to ruin their image. They’re really sweet genuine people.

Are you a big club girl?
I am not in a club girl. I grew up in Vegas, when I was 16 and on, so I grew up in the clubs then. Now that I’m older, I’m over the club scene, I prefer a nice dinner and to go listen to a really cool band.

So if a guy wanted to meet you, where would he go?
I go to the gay bars. All gay boys have pretty girls.
