NASCAR’s Hottest Girlfriend is now the hottest Auto-Racing Fan
In 2007, Athena Barber, Clint Bowyer’s girlfriend at the time, was voted NASCAR’s Hottest Girlfriend by the drivers in a Sports Illustrated poll, and it’s not hard to tell why—beautiful, loves NASCAR, and knows more about cars than your neighborhood mechanic. The recently single, high-octane hottie dished to FHM Online about the secret life of a NASCAR girlfriend.
Last year you were voted NASCAR’s Hottest Girlfriend. Is that a title you are comfortable with?
Yeah, it was very flattering.
If there was another poll this year, who would be the hottest?
This year, I’d say Kyle Busch’s girlfriend, Samantha [Sarcinella]. She just has a look about her that seems hometown and sincere.
What is the life of a NASCAR girlfriend like?
It’s hectic! You’re at home two or three days out of the week. With Clint I always did lots of stuff—there’s always appearances and things going on—constantly doing laundry, dry cleaners, running to the post office for the fan club. There is always something to be done.
Sounds pretty crazy, do all the NASCAR girlfriends do so much for their driver?
If they don’t do it, then they’ve got someone who is hired to do it. With Clint and I, we had someone who was hired to do it, but the personal side of it doesn’t go away.
You’ve always been around auto-racing, have you always been attracted to the drivers?
Always! I can’t honestly date somebody who doesn’t know stuff about cars. It drives me nuts. If I know more about cars than a guy, it’s just not gonna happen! It might be the nicest guy in the world, but it’s a total turn-off to me.
Favorite all-time make and model?
89-93 Mustangs, I’ve always been a Mustang girl. I’ll tell you anything in the world you wanted to know about those.
