Girls of FHM

Miss FHM Diana Chiafair

PICTURE 1 OF 5
Ft. Lauderdale’s finest and your reigning queen

How has your life changed since you became Miss FHM?
There’s a lot more traveling. My girlfriends are excited for the parties and stuff. They’re always like, “What party is next?” I’ve never really been a huge partier, but it’s fun for them.

What have guys done to get your attention?
I’ve had a couple of marriage proposals. I guess they’re not used to meeting a good girl who does stuff like pose in sexy outfits. I think they like the idea of a pretty girl with a good head on her shoulders. They’ll say, “You don’t find that often. Will you marry me?”

Bam Margera had the honor of having you escort him into the bachelor party FHM Online recently threw him. What did you think of that experience?
It was wild! They were really cool but, for me, I’m not really in the party scene. I kind of just sat there and took it all in. I was like, “Wow!”

What were some highlights of the party?
One of Bam’s friends came up to me and said, “Does Bam know you’re here?” I was like, “I’m not even sure Bam knows who I am.” Then he was like, “You have to go meet him. Go sit on his lap.” He was pulling me! I’m like, “No please!” I was petrified.

OK, you aren’t really into guys who brand penises on their backsides, fair enough. What type of men do catch your eye?
My mom calls them nerdy. I like very wholesome guys who are very close with their family, who are religious and know what they want out of life. I don’t think you’d ever catch me with a guy who is getting crazy in a club.

Do you have any crushes right now?
I don’t have anyone in particular. I like guys who know how to treat a girl right—having great chemistry always helps. I like someone I can have a good conversation with and joke around with.

What would you do on your ideal date?
I think it’s so romantic when a guy picks you up and he has the entire evening all planned out. That’s really attractive. The whole dinner-and-a-movie thing is so traditional, I would want to do something more unusual. It’d be more flattering to see what he came up with to surprise me.

Now that you are a celebrity, what can a guy do to get your attention and show that he’s not some sleaze who just wants to hook up?
Just strike up a conversation and be down to earth.

Did last year’s Miss FHM, Lauren Harris, give you any advice?
She told me not to get a boyfriend. I asked her why and she said, “Just trust me—don’t do it.”

Because you will be too busy fighting off hordes of dudes?
She said that her boyfriend was really jealous about it and she would have had a lot more fun if she had been single.

Since your victory, have you had ex-boyfriends coming out of the woodwork?
Yes! Some of them sent me magazines to sign for them. I’ve always been really close with all my ex-boyfriends. They saw me when I wasn’t into modeling, just into school and work so this is weird for them.

What made you want to enter the competition?
I started modeling when I was really young, but when I started high school I got really involved with school and charities. I kind of eased out of modeling. Then I got a job in pharmaceutical sales and I said, “Forget it. I’m done with modeling.” Literally right after that, I was nominated for the Miss FHM competition. Life has a way of throwing little curve balls like that at you.

Thank God for curveballs. After your reign as Miss FHM is over, will you go back to the corporate life?
I really like modeling, but I also really enjoy TV shows like Shark. I’d be so happy to be on a TV show like that.

Don’t think our readers have forgotten about the bungee jump you promised if you won the competition. Have you picked an outfit yet?
I think the readers are supposed to pick that for me. I’m still waiting, fellas!

Looking back, do you wish you promised to do something tamer?
I don’t know where I came up with that. It came out of my mouth and I immediately thought, “Why did I say that?” But it’s done with and I’ll stay true to my word!

What do you think about FHM magazine going all digital for FHM Online?
At first I was kind of like, “Oh no, what’s going to happen?” Then I looked at the Web site and, honestly, I’m just so excited for everything to be online now. I’m so excited to be involved with that. I think you guys are really going to start a new trend. If you look at all the magazines, they’re not really doing that well. And why buy something you can see on the Internet for free?

We’re willing to bet that you’ll be one of the most downloaded girls on the Web.
I hope so! I’m really excited—it’s so awesome. I want to do posters with FHM Online and send them overseas to the troops.

Any plans to go to Iraq and talk with the soldiers?
I definitely want to start doing that. I want to do it here in the States first and then be adventurous and go to Iraq. It’s the least we could do.

Have you gotten to meet any celebrities?
I saw Danny DeVito the day he was drunk on The View! I was in New York for Fox & Friends. I felt so tall compared to him. If you think he is short on TV, you should see him in person. I think he came up to my boobs.
